Steve Coughran started his first company, a landscaping business, out of his sister's garage at 16 and grew it past a million in revenue. Then a prospect looked at his work and told him it was not good enough. That stung, and it changed everything. He rebuilt the business, and then he rebuilt himself.
He earned his CPA and an MBA from Duke, spent years at Ernst and Young, and became CFO of a billion dollar company. Everywhere he looked he saw good contractors making big calls with no real financial picture to guide them. They were winning the work and still wondering where the money went. He started Coltivar to fix that.
